When you walk into St. Ann Church to attend
Mass, you will observe all the details necessary
to celebrate mass. Every element in the sanctuary
is in order, clean and ready for a Eucharistic
celebration. Our sacristan leader, Gerrie Szewczyk,
and her volunteers are in charge of the contents
of our church, especially sacred vessels and
vestments. They make sure the proper vessels,
altar cloths, and vestments are used for each
liturgical season, and special masses. Sacristans
may be either someone in holy orders as is common
in a cathedral, or may be a lay person such
as those at most catholic churches.
